Your headline did a great job of grabbing my attention. "He couldn't be *defending* the Florida curriculum, could he?" Instead, I was horrified to see all the *other* ways money and profit had perverted society, that I had previously been unaware of. I'd always thought that's how abolitionism got through ... The idea that it would undercut the South by destroying their economy when slaves resisted in order to join the Union. There were people who wanted to end slavery because it was wrong. But there were others who just did it for the money.
