You have enough self-awareness to know when you're resting and when you're just hiding from the world. That makes a big difference in results.
I rested a lot while I was sick, lately. It involved wandering around all day in my pajamas and reading a lot of light fiction instead of studying. Hiding involves an almost overwhelming urge to play video games. (At least for me.)
Resting is helpful. Hiding just makes the overwhelm even more overwhelming when I try to address it. It multiplies like bunnies when I take my attention off of it. :-)
