Wow, Randy, you had me worried! But, I have to put in a word for those who don't want to lie -- there's always other choices. You could say "I don't divulge the whereabouts of family members to shady looking people" with perfect honesty. You could say, "You are not welcome here," slam the door in his face, and call the cops. None of these are lies. I 100% agree that people want and need to protect their loved ones. Lying is one way to do that, but not the only way.
