When new drugs come out, what do the doctors know about it? What they've been told by the drug reps, or what they've seen presented at conferences...frequently underwritten by those drug companies.
Even worse, there are multiple cases of falsified research getting into peer review journals. (see https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2021/07/gamers-are-better-scientists-catching-fraud/619324/) And the medical establishment does NOTHING to address this, when peoples' lives hang in the balance.
Even the system put in place to protect people, the FDA, is part of the problem. Because it takes hundreds of thousands of dollars to get a drug through the system to approval. So drug companies will only do that for drugs that are likely to make their money back. "Cures" do not do that. Natural products with few side effects do not do that. Long-term maintenance drugs... those are likely to do that.
