What I find fascinating is how they fly long distances. The classic "V" shape they fly in allows most of the geese to benefit from the slip stream of the goose ahead of them. But as a result, the lead goose does more work. So they rotate through the position. All that honking they do while they fly? Is the geese letting each other know who's tired and who can take the next spot as point.
