What a fascinating and revealing story. When I have a migraine coming on, my nose is super sensitive, and it doesn't matter how much my husband scrubs in the shower, to me his skin will reek of onions and garlic. There was someone at work who we could always tell when he had eaten a family recipe from China, because the spices came through his skin. I guess I've always assumed people's smells were a factor of their foods, except for the odd ones with things like killer foot odor or folks absolutely drenched in sweat.
But there is no excuse for not washing your hands regularly. That's why so many people use paper towels to open the door in public restrooms. Because of the disgusting people who don't wash, then touch the doorknob. Yuck!
