Well, the rain water goes through a filter before it gets to us, mostly to clear out the dirt. (The roof is covered in Saharan dust, which the rain washes into the cistern.) So the filters do get some of the chemicals. I'm a little more concerned about any monkey/bird poop that gets washed in.
