Viticulture is worker placement. Terraforming Mars is more resource allocation and engine building. My absolute favorite is Empire Builder, which is a train route building and delivery game, but almost impossible to find at a decent price. (My friend scored a BRAND NEW copy for $20 from someone who didn't realize what it was worth.) My husband is not a fan, though.
