This is true when moving further south, too. We relocated from the northeast US to the Caribbean, which is much closer to the equator, so the "short" days of winter are not nearly as short. My sleep schedule was all messed up, until I just went with it, and adjusted to waking up early. I'd never been the sort to see a sunrise before, so that was actually kind of cool.
