This is one of the great things we learn in Toastmasters -- how to effectively give and receive feedback. Everything gets feedback. Even the people giving feedback get feedback. And it's all with the stated and acknowledged goal that next time, we'll be better at whatever-it-is. One feedback tip I got from Brene Brown's book was to give 3 pieces of concrete acknowledgement of what they did well, then point out how they can use those 3 things to do better at something they weren't as good at. For example, one speech I evaluated had amazing stories, filled with great details, that were so funny, and perfectly illustrated the speaker's point. But the frame around the stories was vague and confusing. I pointed out that if he used those same skills creating the frame, the whole speech would be instantly elevated. He hadn't thought of the frame as also being a story, but he got it immediately.
