The interesting thing about the Outer Banks is that because they are barrier islands, they’re on a very gradual slope. You can walk a good 50 yards into the ocean at certain times of day, and only be up to your knees. So if you get tired of swimming you can walk back to shore.
Not like Cabo. That was some of the hardest swimming I’ve ever had to do, and I was starting to wonder if I was going to make it before I broke through the current.
The Outer Banks has friendly water. At least, up to the North. Down South, it’s downright nasty. There’s a reason it was nicknamed the graveyard of the Atlantic.
