Thanks for this insight into nonfiction writing. I always knew flow writing fiction was amazing, like taking dictation from my characters, but until you said this, I hadn't realized that *I* could be a character in an article. I'm narrating it, aren't I? You're seeing things from my point of view. ... Mind. Blown.
