Sorry to hear this. My cousin had to have half her thyroid removed. And my husband had a parathyroidectomy. (I never even knew there was a parathyroid on top of the thyroid, but they apparently go bad at a pretty good rate, considering his doctor does nothing but parathyroidectomies every day, and has for 25 years.) Why don't they want to remove it? Usually doctors are all in favor of surgery, because the problem is gone and solved.
