Probably because it's New Hampshire. Cold, muddy when it's not cold, and housing prices are through the roof (since there's no income tax, the state's gotta get their money somehow). The average age of the population skews significantly higher than most as well (when you discount the college students, who live in dorms and don't need jobs). In Colorado, someone in their late-40s / early-50s is too old to hire. In NH, they're a youngun.
