People are weird around death. I honestly don't remember much about my mom's funeral, but I recall being a teenager at my grandmother's and being in the odd position of comforting and consoling people who were anguished on my parents' behalf. They didn't know my grandmother other than in passing. But they were sobbing and wailing. For my parents. It was very strange and uncomfortable.
