Our little cat loves to be carried, too. If she's getting in the way on my desk, I just sling her over my shoulder, and she's happy.

The big cat, though, hates to be carried. Unless it's her idea. If she comes up and stands on her back legs to be picked up, then she's fine with it. She just doesn't want humans to think they can take liberties with her kitty self.
