Only because we're an edge case. :-) If we'd sent the money to the citizenship lawyer at the same time we sent the money to the real estate lawyer, back in July, it would have been no problem. But, for other reasons, we couldn't do that. So now we're trying to fit into a system designed for either a) people newly coming to the island, or b) people who have been part-time residents of the island for years, and are finally moving to full-time residency.
