Love the description of getting the water as a kid -- it was just what had to be done. There's a level of pragmatism that younger generations, with their helicopter parents, were deprived of. The idea that you do what needs doing, and it's only suffering if you make it so. By trying to make their kids' lives easy and happy all the time, they've done them a great disservice.
