It's cool how the roots match up... Luni and Luna (moon goddess) versus Monday and Moon day. I'd heard that Wednesday was supposed to be the day of Jove/Zeus, which is where jovial (happy) comes from. So your name makes much more sense than the English day. There's a theory it switched to the Norse gods midweek, so it was originally Odin's day. Followed by Thor's day. Then back to the Roman/Greek gods for Saturn's day.
