It was weird watching a train of driverless wheelchairs trundling down the center of the concourse. :-) But I think a lot of people who would normally take the service jobs changed their minds during Covid -- the calculus of "a little extra money" versus "getting sick with no health insurance" led to them not wanting to work in areas with high public contact, like airports. Since the jobs still need to be done... the answer is robots.
