Isn’t that a description of French cuisine, though? I mean, who looks at a frog and thinks, “I could eat that.” Or snails?
My friend’s family back in Ireland calls lobster “Famine fish”. As in, it was so disgusting, the only reason to eat it was because your main food supply of potatoes had gone. (Also “Trash fish”, because it walks along the bottom of the ocean, eating all the trash that settles there. Can you imagine a restaurant charging $50/plate for “trash fish”? lol.)
