Interesting detail... check your insurance. They may refuse to pay any additional claims in future because the car was totaled. (Happened to a friend of mine in Colorado whose car was totaled for hail damage, but was completely drivable except for the dings.) The insurance company is perfectly happy to continue taking your payments, but when it's time to pay you...? If they won't cover additional car damage, you can stop paying for it. (Most states only require collision anyway.)
