I never saw his show, but I did read a story by him in Reader's Digest. The family had recently moved, and his son's were enrolled in a new school. His kids' principal called him, to let him know the boys had missed the first week of school, and asking if there was a problem. Turns out, the kids were in school the whole time, but they thought their last name was Sales, so hadn't answered when the teacher called Supman. The teachers wrote down the "extra" kids, but figuring out why there were extra kids in your class was not as high a priority as tracking down missing ones.
