I know! I’ve been told “dishwashers save water” many times… but when I pressed “how do you know?”, no one could ever tell me. It was always someone said… And the results reported in magazines etc. were always “for a standard family of four” — not necessarily relevant to a couple. But this was apples-to-apples. We ate the same amount of food, and had the same number of dishes. We just washed them differently.
