I knew someone who worked for CNN. Their contract stipulated that when they were on the road, covering a breaking story, they could only drink water. Precisely so they didn't crash at just the wrong time. Drinking water would let them stay hydrated so they were alert, but also let them take cat naps as needed when there was nothing new.
