I admit to never having visited Brazil, but I remember an entry in the Darwin Awards from a group of Brazilians (drunk, male Brazilians, of course) who were trying to prove how macho they were with a chainsaw. The "winner" cut off his own head. The other guys, instead of responding, "Wow, that was dumb!" were impressed at his machismo!
