Find someone who knows you and what you like. And who has also read Sanderson. Ask them if they think this would be a good read FOR YOU.

My husband loves Sanderson. I've asked him what elements he likes most. They're things I don't care about. I've asked him how Sanderson does at the things I most care about. Suffice to say, I will not be picking up a Sanderson book any time soon.

But that's okay. My husband doesn't like most of my favorite authors, either. The only one we agree on is Adrian Tschaikovsky -- but even there, we disagree on which of his series is best.
