Every time in the past I’ve gone to a radiology/ultrasound/MRI imaging facility, there’s always been a crowd. (The ones that do mammographies don’t just have crowds, they have mobs.) There was no one. At either of the places we went. There was one guy who came in with his son while I was waiting for my husband to finish up (whose conversation I shamelessly eavesdropped on). The facilities are desperate to get people in, and have slashed prices down to the bare minimum, to recoup some of the costs of the people who have to be there. The contracts with the insurance companies stipulate that changes in prices aren’t reflected in insurance payments, because their assumption was that the prices would go up. No one expected the prices to go down.
