Clearly lots of differences between the islands. Here on Nevis, screens are common but bugs are not (unless bees make a hive in your attic...). We had geckos at first, but we have cats, so the geckos learned to stay away. And the main roads are fairly wide and lightly traveled. Back roads may be just two parallel lines of concrete, one for each set of tires on your car. We even have thrift stores! Somewhere. I've been told they exist.
