Brilliant! Getting rid of income tax, replacing it with consumption tax (no loopholes), and giving everyone a universal basic income would go a LONG way toward relieving income inequality. If people didn't need to work a demeaning job in horrific conditions just to be able to afford food, they wouldn't do it. And then the companies that rely on taking advantage of their workers (as "human resources") would have to actually treat them as real human beings deserving of fair wages and respect. In the short term our lifestyles would take a hit, as the cheap goods and services we're used to would disappear. But in the long term, our lifestyles would improve greatly, because we'd have communities worth living in, and not have to worry about people snapping and shooting everyone up.
