As I mentioned to Adrienne, modern fountain pens don’t do that. In fact, the ink flow is significantly less prone to glops of ink that need to be wiped off the pen tip than the gel pen I was using before. (Admittedly, a cheap gel pen, not one of the really nice TUL pens.)
