And the "professionals" are coming around to that point of view, too! I heard an interview once with a psychotherapist, where he said that the goal of psychotherapy was not for the patient to become happy, it was for the patient to realize everyone else was also miserable, and that was normal. I thought that was the most depressing description ever, and could not imagine how this guy was successful.
